Mayor Baines looks certain to be reelected as Kerry endorses him the weekend before his defeat. It was like someone cut a hole in the Baines reelection balloon after Kerry's appearance, seriously damaging Baines' fiscally responsible image. |

Senator Joe Biden (D-Delaware) was in Manchester pressing the flesh at a fundraiser for the re-election of Mayor Bob Baines. Biden told the Union crowd that the Republicans weren't kidding around, that they really wanted to eliminate them. Biden made personal contact with everyone in the room with an energy not seen by many candidates before he spoke. Rather than stand behind a podium when he did speak, Biden walked throughout the hall almost addressing his speech to everyone in the crowd in an extraordinary way. |

Senator Even Bayh (D-IN) was the keynote speaker for the NH Democratic party Jefferson/Jackson dinner held at the Center Of New Hampshire. Bayh excited the crowd when he described Governor Lych's outstanding performance while dealing with the recent flooding disaster here in NH with President Bush's performance with the New Orleans' hurricane. Then he brought them to their feet when he explained how Indiana had voted Republican sixteen times in the last seventeen Presidential elections, and how President Bush won there, but Bayh had won his Senate seat by a wider margin. Bayh promised to put fiscal responsibility high on his agenda. |

Ann Lewis, from HillPac, a pack formed to enhance the political career of Senator Hillary Clinton, spoke to St. Anslem College students. Lewis, a very respected Democratic Party activist, spoke about women in politics. She also acknowledged that Hillary Clinton took a real political hit from her original health care initiative. She said that Hillary learned not to try and do too much at once and to work with a more incremental approach. Lewis pointed out the competitive disadvantage the current health care costs cause many of our businesses when they try and compete in the international market, especially when competing with countries like Canada, where the Government assumes those costs. |

Steve Forbes is back in NH advocating his flat tax. He appeared at St. Anselm College calling himself a rabble-rouser as he attacked the IRS and almost the whole accounting profession. Forbes applauded the tax cuts that have created record federal budget deficits, record national debt, and record interest expense on that debt. Forbes promised his flat tax would be an additional tax cut. |

One of the Nations most distinguished Senators, Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin), (Center) was in Manchester to endorse Mayor Bob Baines' (Left) re-election. Feingold, one of the most fiscally responsible members of Congress complemented Baines on his fiscal responsibility, and especially Baines' competence at maintaining the city's excellent bond rating. Here they are touring Manchester's amazing redevelopment and economic growth that has taken place. Behind Feingold notice Manchester's green light that hovers over Feingold, and his potential campaign for President in 2008. |
