SENATOR WARREN RUDMAN ENDORSES KELLY AYOTTE
Deficit Hawk Praises Ayotte’s Strong Record As Attorney General

MANCHESTER, NH – Ayotte for Senate announced today that former U.S. Senator Warren Rudman, a Hollis resident who represented New Hampshire in the Senate from 1980 to 1993, has endorsed Kelly Ayotte for the seat he held for two terms. Rudman, like Ayotte, is also a former state Attorney General.

“Kelly Ayotte is a gold standard public servant. As Attorney General, she worked tirelessly for New Hampshire citizens. Kelly’s commitment to vigorously pursuing justice and fighting for victims distinguishes her as one of the strongest Attorneys General New Hampshire has ever seen,” said Rudman.

He continued: “Our next Senator needs to be a proven leader. Speaking from personal experience, I know that serving as state Attorney General is perfect preparation for the U.S. Senate. The difficult decisions I made in that position doubtlessly made me a more effective Senator. Kelly had to make many of those same tough calls, putting murderers behind bars and investigating public corruption regardless of an individual’s political affiliation. That experience will help her make an immediate impact in the U.S. Senate. And I know that on day one, she will roll up her sleeves to stop our runaway deficits and debt.”

Rudman concluded: “Kelly Ayotte will bring New Hampshire common sense to the Senate, fighting wasteful spending and stopping business as usual in Washington. I’m honored to support Kelly and I look forward to campaigning hard for her. She’ll make our state proud.”

Kelly Ayotte said: “I am deeply honored to have Senator Rudman’s support. He led the charge against wasteful Washington spending during his time in the Senate, and he has continued that fight since leaving office. Senator Rudman is a true statesman and one of the most effective Senators New Hampshire has ever sent to Washington. In the Senate, I will stand up for fiscal discipline just like Senator Rudman did.”
